“Yasmin”  is the youngest member of the Troupe, yet has the commitment and passion of someone well beyond her years. She is a solid part of the foundation that makes up Twisted Tassels Tribal Dance Troupe. She has found, as have all the members of the troupe, that the bond between the dancers makes this art form even more meaningful. The community of the tribe, and the sense of belonging that comes with being an integral part of a very special group of women, has given her many more benefits beyond what she could ever have imagined.

Naima began dancing in 2001 out of a need for self expression, and ATS soon filled the gaps she felt was missing in her life. She found it through Perizad's classes and then the Troupe women who shared the same passion she felt for this style dance. Naima is now the Marketing Director of Twisted Tassels and advisor to Troupe Leader Perizad. She teaches ATS in Greene County where she promotes the creativity, passion and empowerment of this dance to others.

"Daciana"has been involved in the theater since elementary school. This included acting, dancing and singing , light, sound and costume making. Her first formal dance training began at age 22 and continued for five years with a combo of ballet, modern and jazz. After entirely too many years at a desk job, Sylvia discovered Perizad's classes and rekindled her love of dance through tribal belly dance. She is delighted at the great health benefits and has discovered her "Inner Goddess" with much enthusiasm!

Adelinda has been living in the Catskills of New York for the last 20 years. In that time she has acquired a very impressive background in professional theater, and has in recent years formed and led a dance troupe herself. Her experience in dance, which includes classical, modern, jazz, folk, and a mix of eclectic and multi-cultural dance forms, come to her through many classes, workshops, weekend retreats, dance camps, festivals, and community events. If there’s dancing even remotely close to Adelinda, you will be sure to see her in attendance.
“RoxAnA” has been studying and performing Middle Eastern dance for ten years. Originally a dancer of traditional Raqs Sharqi and Cabaret style, her experience as a solo dancer was leaving her unfulfilled. Then she found American Tribal Style dance through Perizad's classes and in a very short time was given the opportunity to join Twisted Tassels. She has also applied her love of costume design to this style dance and has found a perfect fit, and hopes to further expand her creative talents into the Troupe as their creative costume designer.

Apprentice "Ylva" has just recently joined our Troupe. She currently performs with GaiaWolf as a hand percussionist and vocalist since 2000.  She has also performed in plays and poetry readings at Pacem In Terris.  Her love of dance and the arts as a vehicle to tell a truly passionate and gripping saga has been further enhanced by her recent discovery of gypsy tribal dance.  Ylva met with Perizad in June 2007 and there has been no looking back! As she aptly puts her outlook on life,

"Let us not walk the well-worn path, but dream the impossible into existence..." Well said, Ylva!
